Loop Counter Stool

The Loop Counter Stool, a reinterpretation of Frances Adler Elkins's 1930s Loop Chair, is distinguished by a back of six interlocking circles set within a gently arched frame. Carved from mahogany and finished in Garden Celadon lacquer, the open construction gives its graphic geometry a graceful presence. Curving fretwork carries the circular motif through the apron, and gently curved legs end in pierced, carved feet. A low front stretcher offers a place to rest the feet, and a drop-in linen cushion adds comfort without distracting from the distinctive woodwork. Suited to a kitchen island or counter-height dining area, the Loop Counter Stool brings historic character and expressive color to interiors both classic and contemporary.
